I get 4-5 mails on Air India’: Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran

N Chandrasekaran, the chairman of Tata Sons, the parent organisation of which, Tata Group, now owns Air India, has revealed he receives ‘four to five mails’ regarding the former flag carrier, each day.So I get four-five mails on Air India every day, some on WhatsApp, others on email,” Chandrasekaran said, according to Moneycontrol. He made the remark on Wednesday, while speaking at the BT MindRush 2023 event.

When asked if he acts on these complaints, the 59-year-old executive said he does respond to the messages, and acts on them, where possible.

“If, however, no action is possible, I tell the complainant to be patient, and give us some time,” the Tata Sons chairman remarked.

Chandrasekaran continued: “Everyone in the country is rooting for Air India. There are multiple emails every day…somebody wants to work here, somebody giving me advice, somebody telling me they had a great flight or saying that though the flight was bad,

improvements can be seen in terms of on-time arrival, as well as customer services.”All this, he stated, is a ‘sign of support’ for the airline, and shows the ‘goodwill’ it enjoys.

In January last year, Tata Group took over the control of Air India from the Union government, and 100% shares of the airline were transferred to Talace Private Limited, a Tata Sons subsidiary.
