Amsterdam: Sickera Siege on Apple Store Ends, Gunman Defeat

Den Haag, Dutch: A man with firearms who detained several people at Apple shop in Central Amsterdam on Tuesday was controlled after the siege took place several hours, police said, added that the last hostages had been released.

The police have deployed several special units to “get a situation under control” after being notified from armed robbery at 17:40 (1640 GMT) which has quickly turned into a situation of hostage.

The police said the gunmen “lay on the road and robots were examining him for explosives” in front of a shop in Leidseplein in the heart of the Netherlands.

The last hostage held at a safe store, they added.

“Since the start of taking hostages … Some people have managed to leave the store,” they said before.

They monitor images circulating on social media which will eventually be used in the investigation, they added.

 The Wagemakers team, an independent journalist who was in the nearest building, tweeted that there was a heavy armed police on the site, adding that the locals were asked to stay inside and away from their windows.
