The state of the Bank of India (SBI) has appointed former CEO of Finance Bank Ujjivan Nitin Chugh as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) to encourage digital banking operations.
He has been appointed for the SBI for a three-year start, said the source.
Before this appointment, Chugh is the CEO and Managing Director of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank. He joined there from the HDFC Bank where he served as head of a digital banking group.
Chugh, who joined Ujjivan Small Finance Bank in 2019, came out of the bank in September last year quoting personal reasons.
SBI has invited applications for positions in December. According to public notification by SBI, the position will be responsible for imagining, developing and in the implementation of a digital bank banking strategy and business plan to provide constructive, empowering and collaborative digital skills.
Previously, the Bank had recruited the Head of Finance Officer (CFO) from the private sector. The e-mail sent to SBI in this case does not cause a direct response.
