Daily average balance,non-maintenance of minimal balance, locker charges and other services for which PNB account holders will soon be charged more.

Starting January 15, the Punjab National Bank (PNB) will charge further for a host of banking services offered by it. PNB, the country’s alternate-largest bank after the State Bank of India (SBI), lately notified these changes, which will be enforced from the said date.

PNB regard holders will have to pay further for the ensuing banking services

(1.)Non-maintenance of QAB At present, the threshold fornon-maintenance of daily average balance (QB) for a occupant of a metro megacity is ₹ 5000. Still, when the modification takes effect, this threshold will get doubled to ₹.

( 2.)Non-maintenance of minimal balance The daily charges fornon-maintenance of a minimal balance has been hiked from ₹ 200 to ₹ 400 in pastoral areas, and from ₹ 300 to ₹ 600 in civic and metro areas.

(3.) Locker charges According to the bank’s website, locker charges have been raised by ₹ 500 in civic and metro areas. These have been revised for all locker sizes except redundant large bones.

( 4.) Locker visits The number of free locker visits has been revised to 12 per time, after which ₹ 100 will be levied per visit. At present, a aggregate of 15 visits per time are allowed, after which ₹ 100 are charged for each visit.

(5.) Current account check For accounts that are closed within two weeks of opening, a penalty of ₹ 800 will be assessed as against the current 600. Still, for accounts closed after 12 months of opening, no forfeiture will be assessed.

( 6.) Sale figure in saving accounts At present, PNB allows five free deals per month, after which ₹ 25 per sale is charged as a service charge. After the change, three free deals will be allowed every month, after which ₹ 50 per sale will be charged as service figure.
