Employers will lead the country to higher growth and prosperity, Chief Marico Harsh Mariwala on Monday that argues and suggests a business to adopt a transformative ‘digital approach’ for sustainable growth.
Highlighting the role of digitization, Mariwala said this industry must prioritize their digital initiatives and take advantage of this business growth opportunity with the right approach.
Mariwala, who was awarded Aima Life Time Award, said employers had a big role in development and they must be assisted and promoted by the industry.
“Employers create a lot of wealth for stakeholders, whether it is for themselves or colleagues or customers as well. Entrepreneurs will only lead India into different economic growth and we cannot depend on the government to increase our growth. It is only an entrepreneur, who is only Will make India Sejahtera, “said Chairman Mario in his virtual interaction on the Day of the AIMA Foundation.
Mariwala, through his climbing foundation, working with 800 entrepreneurs throughout India.
In addition, he is also working on mental health initiatives, focusing on making mental health care can be accessed by marginalized and disability and community people in rural areas.
When asked about digital companies that performed better than traditional companies, Mariwala said now the company “must look digital from ‘opportunistic lens’ with the right approach”.
“This will hit you. This is one of the main topics on the board level …” he added.
“You must identify your digital roadmap in your business in … You have to prioritize it and then decide whether you want to invest in the digital market … then ask people who are experts in digital,” Mariwala said.
He suggested that business leaders have to recruit digital and very young people.
“You have to learn from them and don’t give them other responsibilities and let them spend all the time for digital organizations,” he said.
Mariwala also said the council constitution was very important and should be based on people’s competence.
“For example in the FMCG business, competence is needed in marketing, sales and distribution. We have digital experts because this is also important. Now all organizations are more aggressive on the digital front,” he said.
Most of the problems discussed in the Board are strategic and some committees such as audits play different roles, said Chairman Marico.
While remembering his lam period, Mariwala, founder of FMCG Maker Marico, said he had started his business in the 1970s when there was a license of Raj in the country and had to “use several palms” to start.
“I also don’t like B2B’s business, where you have to meet buyers and take them for dinner. I am very comfortable talking to general trading, such as distributors, retailers and others. It is suitable for me and wants to interact with the final consumer,” he Say added that he had learned a lot on his way.
During a period of time, he began to expand and build two FMCG brands – Saffola and Parachute – and witnessed positive results from advertising.
“If I look back at my own journey, where we get the punishment in terms of increasing market share? Every time we do something very different. In a very competitive environment, it is very important for every entrepreneur to identify the right to identify wins. Very difficult To win in a crowded market if you are no different, “he said.
This differentiation can only come from innovation or through a pioneering initiative, he added.
