Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's Akasa Air Opens Bookings For Flights Starting Aug 7

New Delhi: Akasa Air supported by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala will launch its first commercial flight on August 7 by operating its first service on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route using the Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
Akasa Air, in a statement issued on Friday, said that he had started selling tickets on 28 flights that would operate every week on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route from August 7 and 28 flights on the Bengaluru-Kochi route from August 13.

The airline transport said that flight operations would be carried out on two Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Boeing has been sent by aircraft and the second shipment is scheduled for the end of this month.

“We started operations with flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, with a new Boeing 737 Max aircraft,” said Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, as quoted by the PTI News Agency.

We will adopt a gradual approach to support our network expansion plan, progressively connecting more cities, because we add two aircraft to our fleet every month, in our first year, “Iyer added.

The Directorate of Aviation Regulator General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has provided AKASA Air Certificate of Air Operator (AOC) on July 7.

Akasa Air signed an agreement with Boeing on November 26 last year to buy 72 Max aircraft after getting a green signal from DGCA in August.
