Noida: Tata Group’s Infrastructure and Construction Arm, Tata Projects, has pocketed a contract to build Noida International Airport which will come at Jewar Noida Greater, at Uttar Pradesh.
As part of the contract, the Tata project will build terminals, runway, air infrastructure, roads, utilities, landside facilities, and other additional buildings at the airport, said Yamuna International Private Limited (YiapL) in a statement today.
Yamuna International Airport Private Limited is a 100 percent subsidiary of Swiss Zurich Airport International AG developer and has been included as a specific destination vehicle for developing Noida International Airport.
In 2019, AG International Zurich Airport won efforts to develop the airport. The Uttar Pradesh government signed a concession agreement with Yamuna International Airport Private Limited on October 7, 2020, to begin the development of Noida International Airport.
Noida International Airport will be the largest airport in India that has been fully built.
The Greenfield facility, spread in 1,334 hectares, will have a single escape operation in the first phase with a capacity to handle 12 million passengers per year with an investment of ₹ 5,700 crore.
YiapL has chosen the LTD Project Tata for conducting techniques, procurement and construction (EPC) of Noida International Airport. The company has been chosen from three selected teams with experience shown in the design, procurement and construction of large infrastructure projects,” the statement said.
The new airport is expected to function in 2024, according to the developer.
With the closing of the EPC contract, the first phase of the airport is on the path that will be sent within three years since the start of the concession period, Yiapl said.

The company, together with Tata Projects, works to provide passenger terminals, runway, and other airport infrastructure with a capacity of 12 million passengers every year, in 2024, he said.
