ISRO Signs Agreement With Chinese Firm Oppo For R&D, Crucial Navigation Service

New Delhi: Indian space research organization has signed an agreement with the maker of OPPO Chinese smart devices to strengthen the research and development of Navic messaging services.
The Navic system provides detailed regional navigation services that include mainland India and an area of ​​up to 1,500 km outside of Indian mainland. In addition to its main function provides PNT services (position, navigation and time), Navic is also able to broadcast short messages.

Under the ISRO and OPPO Indian agreements will exchange Navic messaging services to build a special application of applications that are fast, ready to use, end-to-end by integrating Navic messaging services with cellular handset platforms that need to be remembered by Indian user needs.

“Memorandum will open the way for future collaboration between ISRO and Oppo India to develop customary solutions by combining Navic short message features on smartphones released by OPPO India,” said Oppo India in a statement.

Messaging services are mainly used to broadcast live safety warnings in areas with poor communication or not, especially in the ocean.

Oppo India has a manufacturing unit in Noida and R & D center in Hyderabad.
