Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced the name of their upcoming Premium SUV today. The upcoming middle -sized SUV from Maruti, known as the YFG code, will be officially known as the Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki made this new announcement. It was reported that Maruti would name their new SUV Vitara and the manufacturer also hinted the same thing by bringing down Vitara’s badge from the new Brezza. Grand Vitara will be officially launched globally on July 2022. Maruti Suzuki has also announced that the pre-order for SUVs has also begun. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be offered as a premium product and that is why he was sold by Nexa dealers. Grand Vitara is actually the Maruti version of Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The two SUVs were developed together by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. Toyota launched Hyryder SUV earlier this month and Maruti will do the same thing on July 20. Compared to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Grand Vitara will get some cosmetic changes. This may be the same as Hyryder in terms of dimensions and will also offer a list of similar features.
Grand Vitara Maruti Suzuki will compete with people like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq in the segment. This is not the first time, Maruti Suzuki introduced an SUV with the name Grand Vitara in the market. The older Grand Vitara is not a success that escapes in the market for various reasons including the price. Grand Vitara Maruti, all of which are only expected to have a different fate. The SUV will be produced by Toyota in the factory in Karnataka.
We have seen some rendering images from Grand Vitara to date and it seems that SUVs are expected to have a design that will look different from other Maruti cars available in the market. This SUV is expected to come with separate headlights arranged like Hyryder. This will get a wider and muscular display on the front and behind, the indicator turn and an upside down lamp will be integrated to the bumper while the tail lights will become a slim LED split unit.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is expected to come with features such as 6 air bags, leather coatings and soft touch panels on the dashboard and door pads. Other features such as ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheels, free standing screen infotainment systems, shipping control, digital instrument clusters and so on.
When it comes to engine choices, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will come with two gasoline engines. This is the same engine option that we see with Toyota Hyryder. There will be a strong hybrid version and a lightweight hybrid version. The strong hybrid version will come with the TNGA Atkinson cycle engine (92 PS & 122 Nm). This engine is paired on an electric motor (79 PS & 141 Nm). The engine together with an electric motor produces a combined power of 115 PS. The lightweight hybrid version of the Grand Vitara will be powered by a 1.5 liter K15C gasoline engine from Suzuki which produces 103 PS and 137 Nm of the peak torque.
