New Delhi: The price of milk will increase with the brand of milk Amul and Mother Dairy announced an increase ₹ 2 in the price due to an increase in procurement and other input costs. The new prices for both brands will be effective starting Wednesday, said the company.
For 500 ml, Amul Gold will now cost ₹ 31, Amul Taaza ₹ 25, and Amul Shakti ₹ 28 at the Ahmedabad and Saurashtra Market, said the marketing federation of Gujarat Cooperative Milk, the parent company of Amul Dairy Brand.
Mother Dairy said the price revision will apply to all milk variants – Full cream milk will now worth ₹ 61 per liter, tight milk ₹ 51, and ₹ 45. up from ₹ 46 per liter.
The price increase arises in an increase in input costs, said the company.
A mother milk official told the PTI News Agency that the company had witnessed an increase in input costs in the last five months. The company has last raised the price of milk by ₹ 2 per liter in Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) in March.
“This price increase is being carried out due to an increase in overall operating costs and milk production. The cost of animal feeding alone has increased to around 20 percent compared to last year. Considering the increase in input costs, our member unions have also increased farmers’ prices in the range of 8-9 percent of The previous year, “Amul said in a statement.
