KRA Full Form in the Share Market: What It Means and Its Role?

KRA Full Form in the Share Market

In the share market, KRA Full Form is KYC Registration Agency. The KRA maintains a comprehensive database of all Know Your Customer (KYC) information within the securities market. This database is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which ensures its security and accuracy. The KRA is crucial in fostering a transparent and trustworthy financial market.

The Role of KRA in Trading

Since early 2013, compliance with KRA norms has been mandatory for investing in the mutual funds market. The KRA’s primary function is to collect, store, and manage all KYC information of investors in the demat industry. It serves as an intermediary between market participants such as brokers, mutual funds, depository participants, and investors, facilitating the sharing of KYC data.

How to Apply for a New KRA Form?

If a trader is not KYC compliant, they need to obtain a new KRA Form. This form can be downloaded online and requires additional documents to complete the application process. The necessary documents include a self-attested copy of the PAN card, a self-attested copy of address proof, and a recent colored passport-sized photograph. Traders must submit their KRA form along with their existing mutual fund investments; standalone submission of the form is not permitted.
