Mahindra will launch the XUV400 Electric SUV in India in early September, on 8 or 9. This information comes from Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor of Autocarindia. Mahindra XUV400 is the all-electric version of the compact SUV sub-4 meters XUV300.
Unlike the XUV300, which is under 4 meters for customs profits, the XUV400 is expected to measure a little more than 4 meters given the fact that there are no customs benefits for electric vehicles sub-4 meters. It still needs to be seen if the additional length of the XUV400 is translated into a larger boot – the weak point of XUV300. Mahindra XUV400 will take the Nexon EV Tata, and prices tend to start from under the hospital. 15 LAKH.
While Mahindra has not revealed the right range or batteries from the XUV400 electricity SUV, we anticipate that EV will reach around 350 kilometers in one charging. In terms of peak power, expect an electric motor to produce more than 140 bhp – the number made by Nexon EV. In terms of design, the front grids are expected to be emptied because there is no machine in front. The following is a video showing the XUV400 test which is very disguised on Indian roads ahead of the launch.
XUV400 will be Mahindra’s first mass market electricity SUV for the Indian market, and is different from the electricity range born from ground-up electric vehicles developed by car makers for the Indian and international markets. Born Electric is a new electric vehicle brand from Mahindra, and there are five new electric vehicles that are currently being developed.
Three of them will be sold under the sub-engine of electricity birth while two will be sold under the Mahindra brand. All of these vehicles will be supported by the new Mahindra electric vehicle platform called Inglo. Mahindra has been bound by Volkswagen to find some parts under the last MEB electric vehicle program
The first electric SUV under the inglo platform is the xuv.e8, which is basically an XUV700 electric SUV with three rows of seats. This will be launched in December 2024. The next electric SUV is Xuv.E9, which is a coupe SUV variant from Xuv.E8, and will be launched in April 2025. Three other electric vehicles under the Born Electric Brand – BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09 – will be launched respectively in October 2025, October 2026 and 2027.
