Why one of the world’s largest cruise ships is likely to be scrapped before maiden voyage

Cruise ships that are almost completed “Global Dream” are described in the main assembly hall of the ship “MV Werften” ship ship
What is meant as the largest cruise ship in the world is now likely to be sold for memos – even before being able to sail on its inaugural journey.

Global Dream II is being built by Dream Cruises, along with his brother, Global Dream. The ship, which is being built to accommodate 9,000 passengers and more than 2,000 crew, is currently not finished at a German shipyard, according to a report at The Guardian.

MV Werften’s shipbuilding, however, submitted bankruptcy after facing losses during Pandemi. Now, the administrator cannot find buyers for what will be the largest cruise ship in the world in terms of capacity.

In a press conference, Christoph Morgen, a bankruptcy administrator in Binkmann & Mitra, said the paid of the ship and the lower hull would be sold for memo. A report in the German cruise ship industry magazine, Bord further said that the Dream II global machinery and equipment were also sold.

Christoph Morgen announced during a press conference that cruise ships need to be moved from the Werften Werften shipyard at the end of the year because the yard had been sold to naval vessels that planned to build military vessels there. The Navy unit has set a deadline for early 2024 so that the ship will be moved.

While Global Dream II is likely to be deleted, there is still hope to find buyers for Global Dream because almost 80 % is completed. A Bord reports that if there is no serious offer received for Global Dream, the ship might be sold at the auction and purchased for a memo.
