In 2020, Sitharaman was ranked number 41 and in 2019, he held a 34th spot. Sitharaman is the first full-time female finance minister in India.

For the third time in a row, the Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman made it the 100 most strongest women in the world. This year, he was ranked number 37, up from last year when he was placed at 41. He was also two places ahead of American partner Janet Yellen.

Every year, business american magazine released a list of 100 strong women in the world. This year, the 18th annual strength list includes 40 CEOs, the most since 2015, which according to the magazine, “oversees a record of $ 3.3 trillion in revenue.” This list also includes 19 world leaders, an immunology.
