With increasing competition, OEM has now been forced to update their line-up regularly. Continuing with trends, Kia has now brought some updates to 2022 of its Sonet. Prices are now starting at INR 7.15 lakh and runs until INR 13.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In various, price increases up to 30,000. With the increase in price labels, Kia has added some additional features too. Let’s see the update in the trim.

 2022 Kia Sonet Key Update

 Cut the SONET entry level, hte, now get a tire pressure monitoring system and side airbag, both of which have no updates. In fact, KIA now makes TPMS and 4 standard airbags in all over the range of Sonet. The hte variant also got a semi-faux chair with white stitches and folding back seat knobs. The HTK Trim feature list does not see any changes but the HTK + (Turbo Varian IMT) now gets control of electronic stability (ESC), control of vehicle stability, hill control and brake assistance. Previously, this additional security feature was only available on HTX and a higher trim. The HTX and HTx Anniversary edition now gets a 4.2-inch semi digital instrument cluster, which was previously only reserved for trim topping ranges. Second from above, HTX + Trim now gets a total of 6 airbags, rediscover the KIA Connect application (UVO Connect application update) and the new SOS and KIA Connect button on the IRVM (internal mirror mirror). Previously, only the Top GTX + specification variant featured six airbags.

 Kia Sonet Color Pallet Rejig regardless of Rejig in the feature list, KIA also brings changes to exterior paint options. 3 of the old color choices, namely blue intelligence, cream gold and silver steel has been stopped. The double tone option from Beige Gold has also been sent out of production. Interestingly, it was one of the colors of the hero of the sonet during the launch (clearly used by OEM during the launch). To compensate for a decrease in color options, KIA will now offer two new color options, both of which have been borrowed from the newly launched Carens. This includes blue imperial and sparkling silver. Apart from the update mentioned, there were no other big changes planned by KIA for Sonet 2022. SUV sub 4 meters did not get mechanical changes. It continues to have one of the largest list of features in its class which includes 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment units, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, LED headlamps, air purifiers, and more. Under the hood, Kia Sonet gets several powertrain options, which include 1.2 liter gasoline, 1 liter turbo gasoline and 1.5-liter diesel engine. Transmission options include MT, DCT, AT and IMT, depending on engine options. Increasing the competition of all updates seems reasonable from the end of the Kia because competition in the compact sub-4 meter segment is further regulated. Maruti works on iterations that are very updated from her brezza, who will try and display claims to the top position on the segment sales chart. Along with Maruti, Toyota will also bring an updated urban cruiser, which will be based on 2022 Brezza. Interestingly, Hyundai has also tested the 2022 venue, which will increase competition in the segment
